Pupils should be taught to:

• plan their writing by discussing and recording ideas
• draft and write in narratives, creating settings, characters and plot

This KS2 English resource provides a range of ideas for how to plan a story, including techniques for visual, practical and auditory learners. The PowerPoint presentation takes learners through an example story, from first idea, to plan to rough draft. The lesson gives children the opportunity to write their own story and develop their planning and drafting skills. Four worksheets are included.
