This KS2 English teaching resource introduces lower key stage 2 pupils to cinquain poetry through a range of interactive and engaging activities. The lesson begins with an example poem and a step-by-step guide on how to recognise the structure of a cinquain. Pupils then work together to create a class poem with clear scaffolding provided.

The resource also includes differentiated worksheets tailored to higher, middle, and lower ability groups, giving all pupils the chance to write their own cinquain poems with appropriate support.
