Titanic Non-fiction Unit (PowerPoint, worksheets and teaching directions)  

This Titanic teaching resource is a complete unit of work in which KS2/3 students learn how to read and write a range of text types using the story of Titanic as a stimulus. 

The resource is made up of a 154-slide editable PowerPoint, 44 worksheets and teaching notes to help you deliver the lessons. Although it is designed with Year 6 pupils in mind, it can be easily adapted for use with Year 7/8 students. 

The resource covers the following areas of the curriculum:

Narrative writing.

Research skills, using paper and online resources.

Individual, pair and group work.

Spoken English activities.

Non-fiction reading and writing.

Cross curricular links: Science (Forces - floating and sinking); Geography (Titanic's route, nature - icebergs, rocks and minerals, oceans, navigation); Art (advertising poster).
