Narrative Poetry – Year 3 / Year 4

This KS2 English resource is designed to introduce Year 3 and 4 pupils to the key features of narrative poetry. The lesson begins by examining an example poem, highlighting its structure and characteristics, before guiding the class through the process of creating a shared narrative poem.

In the second part of the lesson, pupils are supported in writing their own narrative poems using differentiated worksheets tailored for varying abilities — Gold, Silver, and Bronze levels.
