A Christmas Carol - Scrooge's Grave - teaching resource
A Christmas Carol - Scrooge's Grave
(16-slide PowerPoint lesson with worksheets and answer keys)
This lesson enables learners to contrast Dickens’ presentation of the graves of Tiny Tim and Scrooge.
It begins with a differentiated information retrieval task which asks learners to correct a number of inaccurate statements in relation to Staves One to Four.
Learners will then read from, ‘"Spectre," said Scrooge…’ down to ‘a worthy place!’
After reading the passage, learners will undertake a series of questions that encourage them to consider the differences between the places in which Scrooge and Tiny Tim are buried.
The lesson concludes with a brief review in which learners consider the extent to which they agree with three statements relating to the churchyard in which Scrooge is buried.
Suggested answers are provided for all tasks.
