How does membership work?

Becoming a member allows access to the members' area of the website where all the resources are available to download instantly. Membership represents excellent value for money as subscribers are authorised to download materials free of charge once the membership fee has been paid. Depending on the type of membership you opt for, subscribers are given a number of credits to spend on the site each month. Credits are our very own currency and are spent whenever a file is downloaded from the main section of the website. School membership users can download an unlimited number of materials (with a 300-credit daily cap) during their period of membership. For more information about credits and membership click here.

Who makes the resources?

The resources have been made by primary and secondary school specialist teacher authors.

What do I need to use the resources?

All our PowerPoints are saved as .ppt files and can be viewed and edited in any version of PowerPoint from PowerPoint 97 onwards.  They can also be viewed with Microsoft’s PowerPoint viewer tool which can be downloaded free of charge here – http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=13 and many other free office applications such as Open Office - https://www.openoffice.org/.  For best results we recommend viewing and editing in Microsoft PowerPoint to enable you to more easily edit and adapt the slides and make changes to the more advanced features available in the later versions of PowerPoint.  If you are using an Apple device please make sure that you have relevant software that is fully compatible with PowerPoint.

I have a new email address but cannot update the email details on my account

Just email us at services@teacher-of-english.com and we'll update it for you.

Do I get charged credits again if I download the same resource repeatedly?

No. So that you don’t waste your credits, when you attempt to download a resource, the system will ask you if you have downloaded it before. If you aren’t sure you can check your previous downloads on the ’My downloads’ page. To do this, click on your name at the top right (you must be logged in) then, on the ‘Member Profile’ page, click on ‘My downloads’. This will show you a list of all your previous downloads. You can download anything from this page repeatedly without spending any credits.

How and when do my credits update?

Credits update on the 'monthly anniversary' of the date you joined the site.  For example, if you joined on 17th November your credits will refresh on 17th of each month.  If you are an individual member the number of credits will return to 50 or 100 (depending upon your membership package) when they update.  Therefore, it's wise to use your credits each month as they don't carry over into the following month.  If you are a school member your account has unlimited monthly downloads (with a 300-credit daily cap) from the date you join the site until the date the account closes.
